Club Meetings

Wednesday 17th June 2009
Meeting 2 TBC
Meeting 3 TBC

The Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) was developed by the University of York over ten years ago to support the development and presentation of safety arguments within safety cases. It is now in widespread use in the safety-critical sector - both in the UK and overseas. In recent years, a number of organisations using GSN have suggested that they would like a forum to share their experiences of using GSN, exchange ideas on its application, learn about the developments and extensions to the notation, and to learn about the latest tool support offerings. The GSN User Club has been established to serve this need.

Aims of the GSN User Club

  • To provide a forum for members to exchange best practice experience in use of GSN on their projects
  • To build up resources (e.g. Safety Case Patterns) to help those using GSN on their projects
  • To provide a forum for members to hear about the latest developments and extensions to GSN
  • To provide an impartial forum for members to hear about the latest offerings in tool support for GSN

Meetings in 2009

Three all-day meetings of the GSN User Club are planned for 2009:

  • Wednesday 17th June
  • Meeting 2 TBC
  • Meeting 3 TBC

The emphasis of the club's meetings is on presentations from, and discussions amongst, club members (of their experiences of, and ideas relating to, use of GSN in their safety case developments).
